I've never cared for a puppy before but I took him in when I found out my friend was allergic to him I am only keeping him until I can find him a home .. I knew it was going to be hard but now I am stressing out!
He is ten weeks old and I have no idea how to potty train him. He keeps going on my carpet EVERYWHERE! He has pooped on my carpet 6 times since midnight. Everytime I catch him in the act I startle him and send him outside. He has been wining all night and I haven't had any sleep. Help?

Try using positive reinforcement rather than punishment.  Take him outside and wait until he does his business then reward him with a lot of "Good dog!"s and even a treat.  Don't hit or threaten or rub his nose in it.  You might also try keeping him in a crate so if he has an accident it will be there.  Leaving him outside is not the way.  Dogs are pack animals and you are his pack leader-he wants to be near you and he wants to please you.  Give him a chance.  It won't happen overnight but it will happen and the sooner you start the better.  Good luck!  OH, and there are products that will remove the smell-enzime cleaners you could get from your vet or a pet store.
