For 2 weeks DS has made it through the night with a dry pullup. So we pit him in regular undies last night. He had an accident andI didn't have the mattress protector under the sheets (big mistake). Is there any way to get the pee out of the mattress?

  • So take it outside if you can, and sprinkle some baking soda on it. Then, use a spray bottle to spray a mix of water and vinegar on it and scrub. Scrub scrub scrub.

Then, spray heavily with Febreeze and let dry.

And DON'T FORGET YOUR MATTRESS COVER AGAIN!! LOL! I get cheap ones from Target.

  • Yes do all the above and if possible make sure it stays in the sun for a long time, the sun helps dry it.

Thats ok, that you forgot to put on the cover, just now you see why its important to have it.  lol!!!

I have 5 kids so ya I know it happens.  Good Luck with the cleaning.doing laundry

  • This will sound weird....but buy some Woolite Pet Odor cleaner in a spray bottle.   Spray it on....and blot.  You might have to do this a few times and then let dry.... Most pet cleaners have a special chemical that eliminates the odor of urine...which can be hard to completely get rid of.

  • The above post about using pet cleanup products was a good suggestion.  There's something called "Nature's Miracle" that takes out urine smells. I would have placed toweling down and stepped on it hoping to absorb any urine possibly left behind. Then use the Nature's Miracle according to the directions, it's so easy to use.  It works for pets, so it should take care of the problem.

  • When my dd did this I used my carpet shampooer on the mattress and then wiped it down with alcohol to kill the germs. It seemed to have worked pretty well.
