Well, can't say that while the cats away the mice will play here....lol...well, yes, I've been gone too so gotta speak for myself also. It's been a very miserably hot summer here and the move has been very hard for this old body...lol. Projects have been slow moving but we are making progress.

A friend gave us some bushes that grow well in this arid area and I managed to split them into ten pieces and planted them along our front fence. We hit the Goodwill & Savers stores on their 50% off days and found several pieces of furniture that we needed to fill in the gaps as we sold much before our move. House is getting settled but now we've had a month here I have made our monthly budget and it's pretty well eaten up our income. So back to the 'resourcefulness' as usual....no thanx to Obama I don't see much extra in the future for sure! But God is good and provides for the needs, doesn't He!

Hoping to be back here more as the temps & humidity are going down now I will be able to concentrate and actually sit at the computer comfortably....lol....without the sweat pouring down my neck....

Hoping to see all of u back here too to share what's happening in your area and with you. Intense heat here in Phoenix, floods happening now in the south....the weather has no pity these days does it? Making just the simplest things in life harder to do....I have found this out lately!

Can't wait to hear form all of you. Also I still don't have permanent internet yet so I may have sporatic connection but hope to be on as much as posible!

Well not much happened here this summer, my garden was a flop, and what did pop up, my lovely little ones decided to "help" pick early.   So no extra to freeze!  I've started knitting, and still sewing when I get the chance.  Mostly been trying to just remain caught up with my chores, which is made harder by the lack of motivation to do anything!

My husband has joined the army, so we are waiting for his ship date to arrive, and that means we are spending more time together, not on projects or any of the other mundaine stuff!  Its like being a teen in love all over again, I get that lump in my throat every time I think about him leaving.

But I'm needing to skimp more and find a little more room for savings in the budget, cause the Army certinly doesn't pay well!  So I'll be looking for indoor veggies to grow this year that will travel, because I know in a few months I'll be leaving lovely Colorado for some place new!

You certainly have a lot going on and yes spending time with DH is of most importance right now. I was in the Army for almost 7 years so I completely understand that aspect of things!

As for growing things....it's so miserably hot here the sun toasts everything. I'm still wondering if and how I will have any kind of garden here. The sun now is still too hot for many things!

I wish you and your family the best & blessings in your journeys ahead. I also will be in agreement with you for the safety of your DH in his tour! God bless him.

Keep in touch with us.....

 Walking on Water

A priest, an evangelist, and a minister were in a row boat in the middle of a pond fishing. None of them had caught anything all morning.

Then the evangelist stands up and says he needs to go to the bathroom so he climbs out of the boat and walks on the water to shore. He comes back ten minutes later the same way.

Then the minister decides he needs to go to the bathroom, too, so he climbs out of the boat and walks on the water to shore. He, too, comes back the same way ten minutes later.

The priest looks at both of them and decides that his faith is just as strong as his fishing buddies and that he can walk on water, too. He stands up and excuses himself. As he steps out, he makes a big splash down into the water.

The evangelist looks at the minister and says,"I suppose we should have told him where the rocks were."
