First off, Welcome to the group.  Second, If you are still having regular periods, you are most likely in perimenopause.  Getting your hormones tested is not a bad idea, just make sure it is done by someone who specializes in hormones.  Not all OB/GYN's really take it to heart.  Natural progesterone cream is what I would recommend to start with.  You can get it online or at a health food store.  Just make sure you stay away from anything that contains phytoestrogens.  Let me know if I can help more.  Have a wonderfully blessed day!

Stay as far away from soy as you can get.  Soy is treated like estrogen in our bodies, but has been tauted so highly as an alternative to cows milk and for those who are lactose intolerant.  That could be contributing to the hot flashes and other symptoms you are experiencing.  Definitely check out the cream.  Make sure it contains USP progesterone cream and has no phyto-estrogens in it.  Good luck.

It really depends on which brand you use.  Some are excellent and use no animal by-products.  Others may not use animal by-products, but use questionable ingredients.  I would find one you are interested in and then enter there ingredients in the cosmeticdatabase.com website to see the toxicity levels

I am 47 and have the start of pre-menopause, I think as well.Hot flashes, weird periods....
I drink soy because, 1) told it was good for me 2) i dont too much dairy because of my asthma.
I have not had too much soy lately because I was sick with flu, but still having hot flashes. ...I have never heard of it contributing to hot flashes. Can I have more info?
