Hello everyone.....
I'm fairly new to the group and have been enjoying reading many of the posts.
I'm currently taking Estrace daily for estrogen replacement therapy. I had a complete and total hysterectomy over 15 years ago...everything's gone including my cervix. Shortly after that I began the estrogen replacement. I later tried adding progesterone and my migraines got insane. More frequent and more debilitating.
Over the years I've tried many different things from plant based/soy based therapies to herbal "remedies" to absolutely nothing (hey, my mom did it "cold turkey" LOL) but I keep coming back to the Estrace. It seems to work on my hot flashes (which are amplified here in Florida) and dryness.
However, I'm not 100% sold that it's the right thing for me. I've read about bio-identical hormones but still feel somewhat clueless about them. Before I even schedule an appointment with a doctor that uses them, I wanted to check around some for input not only on them but on other options I may have missed or that might be new.
Thanks!

I wish I had more information on bio-identicals. I am going to have to look into them and see what research I can find on them for you guys. Now I will say this, it is normal for you to have headaches when you initially start using the progesterone. The estrogen in your body puts up a major fight when it is introduced into the system when estrogen is dominant. The headaches usually are short lived and if they are tolerable, the progesterone is worth it.
