Hi, I am new to this group. I have been going through Menopause for many years now. I started when I was in my thirties. I cannot take any kind of hormone replacement because I have a very strong family history of Breast Cancer. My Mom and both grandmothers had Breast Cancer.

I have tried different herbal treatments and nothing helps. I am tired of feeling so angry and nasty. Does anyone have any suggestions?

All I can suggest is what I used that finally conquered my hot flashes was progesterone cream.  It has no estrogen- and it apparently balances and helps the estrogen sensors realize that you really do still have estrogen which you do still produce even after menopause.  From what I have read it is not a lack of estrogen that causes hot flashes-it is the uneveness or your body's perception of uneveness in the amount of estrogen that causes the problems.  Afterall little kids don't have hot flashes from lack of estrogen.  Anyway the wild yam creams do not work-tried them-has to be progesterone and has to be a good brand.  I would check your local health food store.  Hope this is helpful.

I completely agree with the pp about progesterone cream.   Stay away from any that have phytoestrogens in them.  Also, make sure that progesterone is listed at least 3rd or 4th in the ingredient listing.  I have tried many brands.  My favorite one is Equigest by At Last Naturals.  You can find it at a health food store or you can find it online.  I bought it the first time at a local health food store, but found it a lot cheaper online.
