I suppose it was a lesson to me....Never leave a pet unsupervised with a 5 year old. I swear, I thought he was just in the room playing with her...I could hear him laughing, and her little rattly cat ball rolling around...It didn't seem necessary to check up on him.
But..............................................................................
A short while later he brought me a lifeless ferret that had apparently been in the bath tub. I tried to revive her for about an hour, Hoping I could get her back with warm blankets, and rubbing on her trying to get her to breath again....but she was gone.
My son, told me he was trying to give her a bath, but then she fell asleep so he thought she could go back in her cage.
It was heart breaking to tell him that she had passed away. He cried and cried for hours, and when we went down stairs to bury her under a bush, My Darling son actually thought we were going to turn him into the police. Now, I have absolutely no idea where he came up with that idea? But I finally got him settled down enough and convinced that we weren't going to have him arrested that he wanted to go down stairs and help bury her.
When we burried her we all said a short prayre, and headed back upstairs.
My son is still whimpering a little in his sleep, and my other baby Tickles is searching the cage looking for his playmate.
I hope they will be okay.

She was only 12 weeks old
Everybody is still pretty sad today. Its really quiet. But in time I know we all will be ok. We are giving our other baby Tickles alot of extra attention. He seems to be doing ok, but I can tell he is missing his playmate.
Hopefully in a couple of weeks we will be able to get him another playmate.
