I am looking forward to getting my baby ferret. Course i have to wait till i can get the money up to buy them they are around 150 dollars just for the ferret and i want to get the baby EVERYTHING he/she needs.
So i a bunch of questions. I have a 18 month old but he is really sweet and never has hit the neighbors dogs. Course i wont leave the ferret and the baby together alone. But i'm wondering if the ferret would just attack the baby or does he have to be provoked. I had a ferret once and he was the sweetest thing in the world. Course i got pregnant and learned i couldn't take care of him the way he needed it durning the pregnancy. So i had to give him away. I just need to brush up on my ferreting parent skills before i bring a new little one into the family.
Well, I wouldn't get a baby ferret. They are really nippy. I would go to a shelter and adopt an adult ferret so you know their personality. Also, if 150$ is alot of money, you may want to wait till you have an emergency fund for the ferret. My average vet bill is upwards of $200, so I always keep an emergency account. And I am trying not to sound bitchy, but I had 8 ferrets when I was pregggo and a high risk pregnancy, and I took care of all of them just fine. I would never give an animal away. It irks me when I hear this. Will you be able to give the ferret and an 18 month old the attention they need? Again I am trying not to sound bitchy, but maybe this is something you should consider. I would just hate for another ferret to think it has a home then be given away.

I have to agree with DeeJay...are you planning on another baby anytime? Its really hard on an animal when you have to "get rid of it"....
And Deejay is probably right about baby ferrets being nippy, however, we go 2 of them and we've never had a real problem with them nipping us or our boys (4 and almost 3)...maybe a couple times during a war dance, but nothing significant....you know...? :)
"YAY! You're lettin me be myself!"
No i am not planning on having another baby anytime soon.
My biggest problem is just i want to be able to get everything for the ferret to be happy and comfy i have about 200 right now just laying around but i want about 550 to get up and get everything all at once for the ferret. I have been thinking about waiting to get a ferret till i'm done with having children all together
