Hello all, I am new to this group. I just got into scrapbooking about a month ago, after my son was born I wanted something fun to do with his pictures. I have been looking into getting a die cut machine and was wondering what yall recommended. Also, how do yall find time to do scrapbooking? I am a full time working mom with a 7 week old and a husband. I dont have any friends who are into it and I am the only one in our circle of friends who has a baby. So it is hard to find time, energy, and the place to get any scrapbooking done. Any help wold be appreciated. Thanks ladies.

First of all, go to www.creativememories.com and find a consultant in your area. There is no need to buy alot of punches and die cutters at first. Most consultants will hold a Crop Club for a small fee (I charge $5) and you can use ALL of the Creative Memories punches, etc. I even have Sizzix and other machines for use. You can even go ahead and make shapes, etc to take home and use later. Crops are a great way to meet others, share ideas and products! My girls are always giving each-other stuff.
As far as a die machine for letters....I MUCH prefer the Creative Memories sticker letters to ANY that I have used from Die Machines. Yes, even the Cricut! Alot of the die machine letters are a pain to stick down. The Creative Memories letters are not only cheaper and easier to use, but they are re-positionable. Just peel them up and stick them in another spot!
Good luck with everything.
Another piece of advice- try to keep current with the baby stuff! You forget so much when you get behind and with a baby, and it is easy to get behind!
Happy Scrap'n!

I have a Cricut machine that I use for my die cuts. I love it!!!! I only use Creative Memories paper in it though. I am like the other lady who commented before. I would much rather use the CM sticker letters because they are Number 1, easier to use and # 2, I just like the font that they are in.
I would do what she said to do at first though. Find a consultant in your area and go to the crops. That is how I got started and met alot of great new friends that way. I am a mom who works full time and has a son, although he is 14 now, I still work on a few pages every couple of days. At least I am working on my albums and it really is a stress reliever. My advice is if you are going to buy any tools of your own to start with, get the personal trimmer and a corner rounder. I love those two products the most and couldn't live without them.
Have fun!
