I made this cake for my friend for her 27th bday. She's a big kid. She wanted a 2 tiered yellow cake w/strawberry filling. I wanted to do more w/it, but I didnt get a chance to. She still loved it anyway :)
Wow that is really nice! I have a long ways to go before my cakes will look like that.
WOW!! That is beautiful !!
I need more lessons on my cake decorating!
Thank you. I still feel like I need a lot more practice tho. This was my first time making a tiered cake. The one in the background is a dummy cake lol.
I made these doll cake for my daughters 5th B-day party. The big barbie was for the Birthday gal and each of her girlfriends got to pick one of the little doll as their cake. It was so much fun to make. :)
My daughter help with the decorations on the dresses so each doll had a different design on their dresses.
Yeah roses take a lot of practice. I still feel like I need much more practice doing them. It seems like everyone shows you in a different way each time. Make sure your icing is not too soft. If so, it will flop.
I got this info from youtube. I always learn alot of things from youtube.
1- Take a decorating nail in one hand and a piping bag with decorating tip that looks like a teardrop, half filled with icing color of your choise in the other hand.
2- Hold the bag with the pointy side of decorating tip facing up
3- Squeeze hard to make a tall strong cylinder, if you move your nail side to side and it flops over try again, because it wont be solid enough to hold the weight of the rest of the icing and your rose will be lopsided
4-Spin your nail around once to make the center of the rose
5-Start making your pedals, 3 around the center next layer 5 and the next 7
6-To make your pedals spin the nail around as you squeeze the icing out up and down like an upside down "U" shape
*make sure that decorating tip's smaller side is facing up "^" if not your rose pedals will look fat lol
You also have to angle the tip when making the petals. The first 3 you start at the top and angle it at about 90 degrees. The 5 petals, angle the tip back a little more and the 7 angle it back more. It's kinda hard to describe. I hope this helps :)
