Multicultural day for kids at Ten Thousand Villages in Cameron Village (Aug 15)
Multicultural day for kids at Ten Thousand Villages in Cameron Village
Noon to 5 pm, Saturday, August 15
Come for a fun way to spend the
afternoon and a great way to learn about other cultures. Families
enjoy an afternoon of games, crafts and snacks. Outside, kids get
creative with chalk as they turn the sidewalk into displays of Rangoli
art. Inside, kids line up for face painting and henna tattoos or head
to the craft center to make fish kites, "critter" musical shakers,
worry dolls, prayer flags and recycled paper necklaces. A highlight of the day is a children's
drum circle at 1:00 p.m. Children
play shakers, pound drums and dance to rhythmic drum beats. Participants may use instruments from the Ten Thousand
villages store. (No experience is necessary!)
