Hey ladies,

So we found out my husband is getting orders to Germany when he gets back from his deployment. So we need to find housing for like only 3 months, we dont really want to go through the hassle of getting electric/water... everything turned on and what because before he leaves we're going to take pcs leave and go to minnesota, he'll be flying out of there and i'll be staying in mn until after june because i have a huge family wedding and what not. Does anyone know of somewhere or have any ideas? We thought about living with someone but his friends are all pcsing too and I dont know anyone down there right now.

The only thing I can think of is looking into the extended-stay hotels around here.  I know there's apartments and what-not that you can rent month-to-month, but you'd have to get electricity and utilities hooked up and you said you don't want to do that.  I know there's a couple hotels on post, but I don't know the details about them.

Sorry I'm not of more help.

Whatever you do, stay away from America's Best Value, and Lone Star Inn.  We stayed at ABV the first night we were here, and we left right away the next morning without getting our refund...the entire place smelled like fuel, the bathtub was covered in mold/mildew, the tv didn't work, the microwave didn't work, and the beds were like slabs of stone they were so hard.  Lone Star was a little better, they have mini cooktops and fridges and a microwave.  The only thing I didn't like was the floors....They must not ever shampoo the carpets because just walking around on the floor for like 5 min our socks/feet were black with dirt.  But other than that it was okay.  Oh, and it's kind of in the "ghetto"...It's down on 2nd Ave about a block south of Bus 190.  We paid about $160/week there, and stayed there for 3 weeks while looking for a house.  I think they have monthly rates too.
