Ok in my quest to make my life better and have a "plan" in case my husband wants me to leave again I have decided to get a job and make my own money. But I can't find childcare. My son i s 4 years old and he needs a good preschool. If you ladies know anything about any preschools on base and off please let me know. Your opinions matter to me ..so be truthful!! thank you.
I have heard very good things about Pershing Park. They say that school is great and that s were DS will be going in Aug when he turns 4 :) Sorry thats all I really know about them. You can also try the Killeen ISD website were they have ALL the info of the schools here. GL
Do you have that number cause I have been trying all day to talk to them and keep getting the run around?
Quoting Karasmomma2007:I would talk to child youth and services. I'm sure they would have no problem with you checking out the preschool before signing your son up. It never hurts to ask anyways. Good luck!
I dont know anything about the Pre-schools, But my Friend takes her Child to the Wonderland Daycare off Ft. Hood St. They dont lok that great from the outside but they are wonderful. Full ID checks, Cameras in Every room, you cant even get into the Main Building unless someone lets you in. you can walk in, but you are in an entrance hallway and you are "locked out." Good Idea to keep kids from being Stolen...
If he's four he can go to Pre-K at the public school in the fall. If you need care before then, check the newspaper and call around to different places. Ask to see the home or the facility, if they seem reluctant, cross them off your list. If you get a chance to go in, go with your motherly instincts. If you feel uncomfortable, leave, cross them off your list. Try to bring your son with you, children have a great instinct on where they feel comfortable. When you do find a place, talk to your son on a regular basis and make sure he is happy and comfortable there. Good luck!
If you want to put him into a daycare type program, I would suggest checking into the FCC providers on post. The fees are rank based, so depending upon your DH's rank you may not be paying as much as you would in the community. I am paying more than I would at a traditional daycare through the FCC because it is rank based...however I refuse to go elsewhere because my son absolutely LOVES the lady that takes care of him and that to me is priceless.
