Comanche Youth Center has a playgroup that meets Tuesday mornings and Bronco Youth Center has a playgroup that meets Wednesday mornings. There are also playgroups that have pages/groups on facebook.

story time at Copper Mountain Library in Killeen is on Wednesdays & they do an art proj before storytime. Story time at the Harker Heights library is fun too. I don't recall the day & time, but you can google for it. Open Gym at Texas Tumblers is $5 & on Mondays. They open the gymnastics facility to the public for play. They have trampoline, inflatable and foam pit. Kindermusik with Ms. Danielle is also a great group of moms. There are several classes to choose from based on your child's age. I think the site is http://www.kmwithdanielle.com/ or http://www.kmwithmsdanielle.com/ Not sure which. I've met a lot of moms that way. If your DH is deployed, be sure to use your SKIES credit for the free mommy & me classes (tumbling, karate play, dance, art, etc. You can also use it for yourself to take various hobby classes.) The best way to meet people is to chat them up at the park or chick fil a & pass them your #. lol. I've also met several moms at the gym by going at a set time & running into the same faces. we've been back going on 2 years and I have yet to meet anyone that has children the same age as mine or close to it. Our neighbors either don't have children or are expecting. Also not very social around this neighborhood. I'd love for our kiddos to have little friends to play with!

I think spouses also get hung up w/ DH rank. At least you guys aren't 38 with a 3 yr old with peers whose kids can drive. lol. i find myself in an interesting situation because the women whose husbands share my husband's rank all have school aged children and have reentered the workforce. Consequently, i think the friend closest to my age is 31. lol.
