I like to think I am a pretty outgoing friendly person I've never had this issue before but why one earth can I not meet people here?? Ugh I have tried differnt online grooups and talk to random people all the time and everyone seems so damn anti-social or stuck up that they could careless that I just handed them their kids shoe they were walking away from in the grocery store, or their sock they dropped at the laundry mat. Why on earth are there not normal women in this town? and if there is where are you? lol

When I moved to Fort Hood I decided to buy a house out in Kempner. I enjoy the peace and quiet and distance from the military drama, but at the same time I do miss easy socialization of taking my kids out in my yard and just chatting with the neighbors. I have a hard time even getting people to meet up in Copperas Cove which is halfway to Fort Hood for me.
I try to smile at people or maintain a conversation, it hard!!!

I'm a complete spaz! I actually have "mommy cards"..aka business cards that have my name, email, phone, age & gender of my child & a blank line for the recipient to write in where we met. I hand them out. Occassionally, other moms will reciprocate, but not always. When they do, i make a note of their kids' names, where we met, details of conversation, etc in the "notes" section of my phone. If I don't hear from them, i delete in a week or 2. Sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't. I also use Gold's gym as a way to meet other like-minded moms. In fact, my social network right now is comprised mostly of other gym moms and a couple of moms I've met thru kindermusik with ms. danielle.
