So, my 4 year old son was watcing me paint on canvas and asked if he could try. This is his masterpiece. It is hanging on display in our house.
I love it! I had the same experience with my son, him wanting to paint when I was, so I gave him a canvas and let him go at it with acrylic paint. I kept a couple of his masterpieces for myself, the rest we gave out to family as Christmas presents last years. This year we have clay pots and sculpture he has been working on, when I am preparing stuff for lesson plans he grabs my leftover clay, I fired his stuff at school with my students. I love the layering and transparency your son has going on, what kind of paint did you let him use?

Those are acrylic paints. This week, we painted some bird house in spooky colors (all the birdhouses were %50 off at our local craft store). We have a big bay window in our living room and we are going to build a Halloween city and put it on display. I will take pictures when it is done.
