my body as been completely out of whack these past 2-3 weeks and i was just wondering, what signs and symptoms did you have in the weeks and days leading up to your labor? my morning sickness is back and i've had diarrhea(TMI, i know, sorry) for the past 2 1/2 weeks or so. since saturday, i have had cramps and braxton hicks. saturday, they went for 8 hours straight every few minutes, but never got worse, same thing on sunday. last night though, they started getting a bit painful, and again went away. i woke up this morning and same thing. they haven't really gotten worse though. i also lost a piece of my mucus plug yesturday.

my doctor told me that the braxton hicks would occur more often and get painful as i got closer to going into actual labor. i was just wondering what some of you are experiencing or have experienced and what the odds are i might go into labor soon. i'm almost 36 weeks and my doctor told us to be ready by 37 weeks just in case, since he's measuring ahead and my body is already going through some changes already, but she seems to go back and forth on what she tells us, so i really don't know what to think. what do you think?

sorry this post was kind of long.

sorry for the TMI, but.... my diarrhea has been really bad today (usually it's been 2 times a day, but i've already gone 6 times today, if not more) and my nausea(which usually goes away after i've been up for an hour or so) is really bad today and not going away. whenever i get a cramp, i'm able to go to the bathroom and it subsides, but my back has also started hurting. not intense, but almost a constant ache in my lower back that radiated around into my right hip. isn't getting any worse though.

Im' having the same things you are.  I was "fingertip" dilated last week and am being checked again this week.  We only have 25 days to go, but my MW does not think I am going to make it to then.  She told me to have my bags packed and ready.

Good luck to you!

I'm 39wks3days and all last night I was having contractions~ a/b 8mins apart. They lasted all day (and I'm still getting them) and I finally decided to go to l&d to see if I was dialating or anything~i could have sworn I was, but I'm still 3cm (same as last wk at my drs appt). And of course mine stopped well alot farther apart when I went in. I'm so uncomfortable and have so much pressure esp when I stand up. My back is aching so bad too~ so yea I'm rght there w/ you. I'm hoping its soon~like Friday the lastest! Sooner would be awesome. I'm just waiting for them to get stronger & closer together. Good luck to you!

wow, you are just a few days away!!! hopefully your baby will be here in the next couple days. i could've sworn i was dialted, but i'm not even 1 cm yet, but i am starting to efface, so looks like this little guy is going to be in here for a little while longer. i had the same issue with contractions, but my doctor didn't seem too concerned. :/  i definitely feel your pain. i hate that hip pressue. it hurts so back to walk sometimes, and i have scoliosis, so the prssure on my back has been causing me some major discomfort and problems. i don't know how much more my spine can take. i hope this little guy gets here soon. glad to know i'm not alone going through the discomforts. keep us updated and good luck to you too! :)

I lost my plug yesterday & had a little bloody show with it (sorry TMI) & I've been having contractions for like 48 hours straight every 3 minutes or so but still not very strong :(  I've dropped & at my last appt I was 1 cm dialated inner cervix & 3 cm dialated outer cervix.  I can't take much more either--I've been hospitalized twice for pre-term labor with this pregnancy, so really I've been dealing with contractions since I was 26 weeks!  I really hope he decides to come soon!

I've been having contractions all day, painful enough that I can't even lay down, they were 4-5 minutes apart earlier but they've spaced out since then. I'm still getting them every 10 minutes or so though and their still painful though not as bad. I hope they go away soon so I can get some sleep.

I've been the same for the past couple of weeks: diarrhea, cramping, Braxton-Hicks, and backache. I went in a litte over a week ago and they said I was maybe 1 cm dilated but that was all. I've also had some flu-ish symptoms, and I've been told that for awhile before you actually have your child, you are supposed to have all these symptoms. My heartburn has come back as well, god I hate that! I'm not due until the 31st, so I hope he shows upsoon. He's just getting too big and this heartburn is killer. Not to mention the heat. Yuck. My midwife did say that if the cramps got really really bad (where I couldn't really talk through them and they didn't go away with rest and water) to go in to L&D, or atleast call. Better safe than sorry. I have my 38 week appt on the 17th and they'll check my cervix again. Hey, is anyone else's cervix tilted backwards? I know it's not a big deal, I'm just curious.

I am on iron which usually constapates me but for the past few weeks I've been going #2 several times a day. I also feel sick to my stomach and have a hard time eating. Every night I have cramping or contractions that end up fading away. I know I am at least 3 CM dialated & 80% thinned out & I lost my plug yesterday. So we'll see... Ready, Set, WAIT! lol
