ok, so i was just wondering, for those of you who have already had your babies or previous children, what were some things you noticed in the days before labor? for the past 4 days, i have been having A LOT of braxton hicks, most kind of painful and horrible pressure down below. last night i also noticed an increase in what i'm assuming is discharge (but it's clear, kinda watery, and there's not a lot of it. i don't think my water is leaking though, because there's not THAT much fluid). my doctor said on friday that my cervix has dropped and that the baby is sitting VERY low, but no dialation yet. do you think these could be signs that my little guy is coming soon? as i said, what symptoms did you ahve the few days before? thanks
i'm going to talk to my doctor at my next appointment if he hasn't arrived yet and see if that's even something she will do. was it painful? i've heard different things about it. can they do it if you havne't dialated yet?

yes he should be coming as soon as you start dilating things can change quickly. I'm 4 cm and 40 weeks It may be because my OBGYN stripped my membranes that can speed along the dilation.
i didnt have any signs really.. i was a 2 for like 3 weeks then went to my dr and she said i was a 4 but the baby hadnt dropped or nothin and then later that night bam contractions hit badddd and i called the dr cuz they were already 5 mins apart went in and had her 2 hours later! sorry if im no help!
wow, that happened fast. it's ok. i'm just trying to get a better idea of what could happen and when, but i know everyone is different and there's really no way to tell for sure.

I was the same way as you are, because with my son I had a sesiure and was inducded and I never felt contractions, nothing, with him. So this time around I was so scared about what would happen!! good luck hun! I hope your little ones here soon!

i'm kind of in the same situation myself! I am a firsttime mom and I am due in 5 days. I have contractions sparatically all day and night and am having a lot of pain and pressure. Now I went and got checked out and found out I'm 2 cm dilated but my contractions are so far apart they wont admit me....its aggravating because im so anxious to have this baby! I tried all the tricks in the book like castor oil...hot baths....walking...sex...everything...still haven't gotten my contractions closer together. However if I do go over my due date I was assured that i could request to be induced which a lot of first time moms have to do...they just dont wanna come out!!! let me know if u make any progress...or if theres any tricks i missed too lol. hang in there!

i just did a lot of walking and had sex everyday. don't know if it worked. we've had a daily routine of both for nearly 2 weeks and just yesturday started having contractions. good luck and hang in there!

so just an update.... i'm in labor. and i'm having bad back labor. unfortunately, my doctor doesn't think it's real labor because she couldn't feel my cervix to tell if i was dialting and said this could last for days. it's gotten a lot worse since i had my appointment at noon and i don't think i can do this for hours, let alone days! the last 5 have been 5 minutes apart and last about a minute. i can hardly talk through them and no position is comfortable. i think i'll probably be in the hospital by tomorrow morning, if not sooner.
