Baby Cohen Dale is here...July 16th +Delivery story + pics
Baby Cohen blessed us on July 16th at 12:18 pm. He is our first child. He weighed 7 lbs and was 19.5 inches long.
Labor and delivery story...I was admitted into the hospital the night before and was given Cervadil to help me along. My blood pressure was high at my 39 week appointment so the doctor wanted to rush things along. The next morning, I was given Pitocin and strarted having contractions soon after. In about 3-4 hours, I was dialted to 10 cm. I had braved labor pains for about 1.5 hours but then I asked for an epidural. I was ready to start pushing, BUT then the baby's heartbeat was getting pretty LOW during contractions. The doctor thought this was due to the umbilical cord around his neck. So then, the decision was made to have an emergency c-section. These were words I never even imagined I would hear this time. I had had an extremely easy pregnancy, therefore, a c-section was not even on my mind. Turns out, the cord was wrapped aound his neck so it was definitely a great thing they got him out fast. My plans for a natural childbirth were taken but I am forever grateful for having a beautiful, healthy baby boy.
