Hazel LeAnn. Long story but kinda interesting. Some TMI.

I know this is just a little late, but I'm sure you all understand how much time you get when you have a newborn baby. Anyway, Hazel LeAnn was born on Monday July 27, 2009 at 3:06 pm. She was 8lbs. 1oz. 21 1/2 inches long. It was a CRAZY day, as most births are I'm sure. I was scheduled to be induced at 7 am on July 27th, but the night before I started having labor pains at 10 pm. I didn't think it was labor since I was only 1 cm. dialated just three days earlier. I went to bed and was woken up at 2 am with contractions. I still didn't think they were anything, It felt like bad gas. We called the doctor just in case and they told us to head to the hospital since it is an hour and half drive from home. As we were headed to the hospital, I started noticing a pattern with the contractions and that's when I knew I was in labor. They were three minutes apart! When we got to the hospital, they said they were pretty busy, which we were told before hand that they normally aren't that busy. We probably wouldn't have been able to be fitted in for our scheduled induction, but I luckily went into labor on my own. When I first went in I was still only one cm. but my contractions were bad enough, and since I was 9 days past my due date, they told me to just walk around for an hour, then I can get get back in the room. When I got back to the room I was up to three cm. so they hooked me to the IV. My doctor still wanted to use the pitocin to speed up my labor so that made me go up to 4 1/2 cm, then they broke my water and the baby had pooped inside of me. They gave me the epidural since the pitocin made my contractions more constant and unbearably strong. One hour after the epidural they came to check if I was dialating more, but there was her head! I pushed for an hour then got sick. As I was throwing up it helped push her out! The second she came out she was pooping all over the doctor and the nurses and continued to for at least five minutes! Anyway, She is perfect and even has the same birth mark as me, in the same spot on the same leg!! How crazy huh? Sorry so long, I just wanted to share my crazy birth story on here. Here is a picture of hazel.
