Spicing up my photo books?

I did a few books last year as christmas gifts they were fun, I did a few this year already. After looking at all the books shared on shutterfly I want to spice mine up a bit?? I see lots of them with different fonts and settings not offered in shutterfly? I assume they made the pages somewhere else and downloaded it? What website can i do that at? Also could i just upload better fonts onto a page? Any other Ideas and how tos are really needed.. I am using coupon codes that don't work with the creative keepsake stuff. Thanks guys you are much help!
