My dd took the metal detector out to see if she could find anything out in our yard. I live where the Civil War took place. She ended up finding a 1820 penny and then the copper door knob. I have googled out the yin yang and I can't seem to find anything about it. I have never seen a copper door knob in my life so I'm thinking this door knob may go back to the late 1800? I don't know? What do you guys think?

19th century homes had all sorts of door knobs, glass and stamped steel is most common but I have had stamped brass, porcelain including hand painted ones with all sorts of things,  cork, and wood.  Shape is also in many variations so a copper knob would not be so uncommon but you would have to haunt renevations shops to find a value.
