Today Jacob had a girl at lunch say her sister said that Hunter was mentally ill. She got in big trouble. Well I was like okay. Well the teacher made her write me ,Jacob and Hunter a letter. She says her sister said that Hunter was retarded,crazy and a mental case. I was sad because Hunter is a great kid . But as we all know kids will talk. I did call Hunter's teacher because I didn't know if this kid was in his class. I did not want her around him if that's how she really feels. Jacob's Teacher was angry and she took care of the girl. But the sister will be getting an ear full come Monday. I will talk with her teacher and Hunter's special needs teacher too. Just not going to let this go till that sister knows she is wrong. Here's the letter Dear Hunter, I'm very sorry because at lunch today I told Jacob that my sister called him a retard,crazy, and a mental case. I am truly sorry and should have keep it to myself. I know it was the wrong thing to do. You are a very nice kid. I ask that you could please forgive me for the stupid things I said. Nice note. I wish kids could just be open minded.
Did the teacher bring this to the attention of the kids parents. It starts at home, and the parents need to be aware of what mean things their kids are saying to other at school. The parents need to know there is no tolerance for that kind of crap. I know this kind of stuff happens but the more we jump on it and let everyone involved including the parents of the kids that are saying this kind of stuff that it is wrong and not ok maybe just maybe it could change a little, one person at a time.
I'm sure the Teacher did . She was not happy at all when I talk to her after school.

Young Kids don't realize what they might be saying , also they are not aware like the lady was saying , the parents need to talk about what might be wrong with a child with special needs they didn't ask to be this way .. Just heart breaking that we as moms' have to hear and live with the thought that so many parents just do not care to take the time to explain what mentally challenge means ..Most of are kiddo's are by far smarter and more in tune with the world around them . And that to me makes them so special .. They are a gift to us from God .. To look at it any other way is to not be in full acceptance of are children's condition . Just my take on it .. I go some-days minute by minute in trying to accept the things I can't change the courage to change the things I can the wisdom to no the difference .. AMEN .. Bless this little guys heart good for the teacher having the young girl write that apology letter too ..
