Hi, I have been a member here for a while, but I have not posted or replied. I just kind of lurk.

I was wondering if you ladies can give me your opinion, experiences or knowledge of the time out rooms that are used in many ASD class rooms.

My son has his moments and streams very loud and gets aggressive sometimes. When this happens we put him in his room AKA the screaming room AKA the calming down room. We tell him when he is ready he can come on out. He comes out and says "all better".  Kids need a room where they can go to let out their frustrations when they get in their moment. That is his place to get it all out.

yeah, my son goes to his room also. He does not need to be locked in there!

Yes we do not lock him in there either. He can come out whenever he is ready to come out.
