Hi everyone my name is Karen and my son has ben diagnosed with Autism for 3 years. I have my ups and down and my frustration. I feel he was robbed I did everything right in my pregnancy and i had him in my early 30 i don't know what went wrong. If anyone in GA area can help me find a reasonable camp for him this summer
Have you tried your local YMCA? Some offer a summer day camp for disabled children. I know my local YMCA offers a summer day camp program. For low income families or those who meet certain guidelines, they do offer scholarships for their programs. You also might also want to sign him up for Boy Scouts, Special Olympics, TOPSoccer, and Challenger Little League baseball. Each of these activities or grouyps can provide him great opportunities in life to succeed, and each one is affordable or free to utilize.
I know it can be rough having a disabled child at times, but if you work hard with his teachers and therapists, your son can reach his full potential in life.
