My son has trouble going to sleep before 11pm or 12am and it is a fight getting him to bed than. I read on a website to try Epson Salt in his bath water. So I tried it out for the first time last night. OMG!!!! He was asleep before 9pm. So, tonight I gave him another bath tonight with Epsom Salt in it. OMG!!! again, he fell asleep on the living room floor watching a movie at 8:40pm.  This is a miracle working on kids that have a hard time sleeping. This stuff is awesome!!!!!

Epsom Salt is used as a calming and soothing agent. It works on body aches, sprains, strains, inflamation, arthritis, and just need a relaxing bath. Just put 2 cups into the bath water an hour or so before bedtime and watch the magic work.

yup we have scented epsom salt that is called sleep and my son uses that and he is out about a half hour later. I also use another kind called aches and pains to help with my fibro flares. I can ease my pain away long enough to have a nap.

Because of sensory issues my daughter won't tolerate bubbles in her bath. Would she notice the salts or do they disolve completely?

It dissolves completely and it does not make any bubbles. Sit them in the tub for about 20 minutes and let them play with their bath toys.

It just takes 2 cups in bath water.

Nightly baths, 2 cups/bath, 20 minutes minimum is suggested. And Kirkman has a magnesium sulphate transdermal cream for those days when no bath is possible or showers are the only option. So dose one hour before bedtime for time for the cream to take effect.

Epsom salt is a three-fer:
the magnesium relaxes muscles and promote good sleep,
the sulphates are supplementing the sulphates useful in healing a leaky gut,
and it is a mild chelator and detoxifier.

Here is some more information about the wealth of benefits of epsom salts.

Just beware, for those kids who drink their bath water, magnesium sulphate loosens stools when taken orally. If your son/daughter tends to drink a lot of bath water, you might want to monitor them and redirect that behavior in order to take advantage of the long term benefits from nightly epsom salt baths.

Where do you find scented Epsom Salts?

Does it keep them asleep/help them sleep longer? My son is ok going to bed, but gets up EARLY, between 3 and 5am  now (he used to sleep 12 hours/night)!

What about calming effects for daytime? My son wakes up in hyper mode, wonder if a morning bath would chill him out?

You could try looking at the bubble area of walmart or a drug store. If you can't find them there I will find  the directions on how to make your own.
