Ok, I took my daughter in for her 3 yr check up today. I knew I was not doing shots on her. My 5 yr old son was diagnosed w/ Autism @ 3 yrs of age. When the Dr. checked to see if she was up to date, she said she didn't need any until she was 4. I told her my concerns, she said that they have found a link to Autism w/ a certain batch of MMR shots. I said would Bryce (my son) have been in that batch. She asked when he was diagnosed, I told her and she actually said yes, he would have been. She proceeds to tell me, but the new MMR shot is different. I asked her, how do you know that. I'm not using my daughter for you to find out if it works or not. Anyway, had to vent about it.......

I would have asked her for the source of her information (I've never heard that line before - "a batch of the MMR"). And good for you for sticking up for your rights to choose what is best for your kid!

Will, diagnosed at 18 months w/ASD, non-verbal, no eye contact, no play or social skills. Now 4, VERY verbal, great eye contact, great play skills and increadibly social. He's on the road to recovery with ABA therapy and biomedical intervention.

I haven't heard the "batch" line until reading this either.....seriously....PLEASE ask her for the article or source of that info...I want to see it for myself.

"I'm Not using her to find out" LOVE IT! I've not heard of the batch thing either. However after talking to a friend that used Glenwood Medical Center "Shots for Tot's program" held at the entrance of the Mall, (herding them in like a bunch of animals) she told me that was the last shots her child got too. Her Child had a serious reaction just like Lane did. Both now, once typical have ASD. She said her Dr. told her that the batch that shots for tots uses are older & filed with more preservatives, that's why the Fee was only $5.00. That's the day they gave Lane 6 shots in one day including the MMR. What a nightmare, just wish back then I knew what you know now. So proud of you for sticking up to that Dr.
Good luck with your Daughter & so sorry your Son was affected.

I heard there was several test done that proved there is a link. I have not heard about just one batch. 5 pharmaceuticals companies broke away from the main stream because they were the ones that did the testing and the CDC and FDA covered it up. I am trying to get the results but first I have to find out the names of the companies anyone know the names of these companies. Can you get the lot number of the MMR your son had so you can look it up ?
Personally for me (and I'm not trying to start a fight I'm just stating my opinion. I think everyone has a right to their own opinions on it) if vaccines caused autism then every kid that was vaccinated would have it. My son had not had his vaccines due to an unrelated illness when he was diagnosed with autism. He has since been fully caught up and is 100% vaccinated. My 15 month old daughter is also fully vaccinated and has no signs of autism. My son showed signs very early in life. So I don't believe that vaccines "cause" autism. My thought (and no I'm not a medical doctor, I just have a theory) is this. I have Graves Disease It's a thyroid condition that lays dormant until some kind of intense streeful event triggers it. I had no clue that I had it and neither did my docs. All thyroid test I had ever done up until it was triggered always came back fine. So I' thinking that maybe these kids have autism and it just lays dormant inside of them waiting for a trigger. Maybe an illness triggers it (like we thnk happened with my son) or maybe for some kids vaccines were the trigger. But I think ultimately SOMETHING will trigger it. If parents don't vaccinate their kids, eventually something will happen that will trigger it and their kids will have it anyways. That is why you get parents like me who had not vaccinated but still have an autistic child. And why most children who are vaccinated don't end up with autism. Like I said, it's just a theory I have. You can take it or leave it. But for my son I know that vaccines didn't cause it because he didn't have his vaccines until afer his diagnosis.
It is great to have your own opinion but you also have to take into consideration what vaccines do and what is in them. Not every kid will get autism, and not every kid will have autism at the same degree. Some children that are vaccinated will have ADHD, learning disabilities, asthma, eczema, or just a weakened immune system. So please study on vaccine ingredients and causes. Our bodies are not designed to fight of 36 diseases and all the additives too at one time. There are also other factors like were you on antibiotics during your pregnancy or was your child during his or her shots. Did you have recurring yeast infections, did you have the shots to stop or start your labor, is any of your family members ADHD, bipolar, schizophrenic, graves, low cortisols levels or autism, did you live in a polluted area where there was a factory or spraying for bugs. It is not just vaccines but this is a main contributor all we ask is that you educate yourself. Why do vaccines they do not stop you from getting any of the diseases?
Now as for graves disease, I know quit a bit about this. If your cortisol's levels are low and your under stress, this is when it becomes active. I deal with dysautonomia on a daily basis. My autistic daughter has it. If you do a tilt test I bet you have MVP too all of these diseases are connected they are genetic. Autism is induced. MVP, graves, dysautonomic, RSD can be helped with supplements better than medicines. I know because I have been dealing and research this for years.

First off, I noticed a similarity in your child and mine.. DS is also 5. So the "batch theory" could be true since it seems like this is a majorly generational thing. I could be wrong, but just noticed that coincidence. I've not heard a word about the batch theory though.
Second, I believe that there are two sources of autism: one is vaccinations, one is hereditary-- like ADD. I say this because I never saw "the change" that some parents saw shortly after a vaccination. DS never had speech at first. He was language/ speech as well as social/ emotionally delayed from the get go. (He was screened and this was found at age 2 1/2.)He never had high fevers, confusion or any other reactions or changes after a shot.
He was dx'd at almost age 4. DH was dx'd with ADD as a teenager and the older DS gets, the more I see the same behavior in DS that DH displays that has been diagnosed as ADD. I wonder if DH isn't ADD, but in fact, High Functioning Autistic.
For me, the evidence is clear that there is a link between Father and Son (DH CANNOT read non-verbal cues and is uncomfortable with eye contact to name a few similarities... he also has digestive issues similar to DS's.)
Today, he has tested out of speech/ language therapy and will lead a typical life, just like DH can. He doesn't have meltdowns, stimming, obliviousness, etc.. that more severe autistic chidlren have. But he does have social awkwardness and lacks the natural social abilities that most children have as well as attention and digestive issues.
I think that children who are autistic via vaccinations had some predisposition in their genetics that were "irritated" or "flared up" by the nasty chemicals/ additives in vaccinations. And that some children are genetically predisposed to the condition without an irritant even needing to be a factor. Kind of like how the Roloff's (a married couple who are both dwarfs) have 4 children and only 1 of them is a "little person." The other 3 are normal height. Our other child is a 4 year old girl who is NT and VERY SOCIALLY AND VERBALLY skilled. It's in the genes for us, from DH's side, I believe.
Just my two cents. :)

That's like saying EVERYONE who smokes has cancer. Everyone who drinks will die from alcohol posioning. Everyone who eats is obese. Everyone who bathes is disease free. Everyoen who rusn is healthy. There is NOTHING that is in "everyone" the same...and shouldn't be treated as such. My son DID show delays prior to his MMR. He did have diagnosis of epilepsy at 15 months, 3 days after his first grandmal seizure he got his MMR. Within a week he had completely lost everything; I do blame his vaccines. Although he already showed some signs; the main ones didn't come out til then. It's like he had a cold; but the MMR turned it into RSV. Kinda like ppl have cancer cells; but something makes them turn into cancer.
My 6 yr old daughter was fine one day, went in for shots *prevnar* and within 3 days developed the worst ear infection *lasting 3 months even with daily shots of antibiotics* and it led to 5 surgeries. I blame Prevnar for her problems; because before that she was fine. Prevnar is used to prevent bacteria that can lead to ear infections. I never saw that link until this past summer when requesting her medical records as we moved across country. It was then; when I saw that.
My youngest, another story. He was fine, perfect newborn baby. Got vaccine at 5pm *HepB* by 7pm was lethargic, 99.9 temp, vomiting, and very sick. He was 24 hrs old....took him to dr; where they said he had a cold. You can't get a cold within 24 hrs of being born! That cold turned into RSV which led to his asthma & lung problems. I didnt want him vaccinated; but his drs pushed me, lied to me, and I let them do it...even after that first one, at 2m shots it was same thing, then again at 4m...but after 4m i noticed he was losing eye contact. He started reminding me of his brother...I stopped vaccines. Within 6 months he was back to normal, speech was fine...he's 100% healthier than his fully vaccinated siblings...and he's the least vaccinated. He has NO signs of autism.

I'm Jess...wife to Jared...Mama of 3 +1 (sd)=4 children. Amanda (sd) 9, Amethyst 6, Isaac 4 & Elijah almost 2. Isaac has special needs: autism and epilepsy. I support Nursing In Public and am anti-vaccines. Check out my page on myspace! http://myspace.com/glitterbug03
Thanks for all of your comments, I can promise you we don't fight in this group! LOL! All opinions are welcome! So here is my opinion, in Lane's case, because he was totally fine at 20/mos, not one single sign of any problems. One of you mentioned like Graves disease lies dormant & something triggers it, kinda like cancer cells, something triggers it. Because this group is more about parenting & not about the cause, I so respect that & try to never go to that subject here. So please don't think I am doing that, because the subject has come up, just wanted to express my feeling. I think any & all info is very important to better understand & help our children.
This is how I sum it up!
Genetics & Environment loads the Gun, too many vaccines, too soon, way too many toxins, one size don't fit all! Vaccines pull the trigger.

Like I said, I was not giving my opinion to start a fight. As for the part in red, no none of those were a factor in my pregnancy. I didn't even have the grave disease until AFTER I had my son. And I did get it due to a tramatic stressful event. But again, that was after my pregnancy. A year after in fact. And no I don't have MVP or Mitral Valve Prolapse. See I too do my research. I'm glad you have your opinons and I have mine. I was not posting on here to have someone try and prove me wrong. We all want what is best for our children, and for me I know that vaccines are best. For you they are not. That is fine. But you don't need to try and pick apart my opinion. Until the experts say that they are 100% certain they have founf the cause for autism, parents will just have to keep wondering and hoping they are doing the right things.
