So I was stating in another post that I like to make at least one gift every Holiday Season to help people remember that it isn't all about money and people really seem to appreciate that I take the time to make them something. It gets harder with every passing year to come up with something new to make. I have done things like homemade chocolates, OK I have done that one several times, knit scarves, etc. This year I am making scented bubble bath, probably in a relaxing blend using essential oils and to be eco-friendly, I am reusing containers - wine bottles to be precise. I have been collecting them from friends and family and will fill them with my bubble bath concoction and buy some new corks - hopefully sqeeze them back into the bottle tops and seal with wax. If anyone has suggestions on how to seal them better or how to get labels off of bottles I am dying to hear your tips!
What kinds of homemade gifts have you given? It can be for any occassion.
I don't do homemade very often. We do sometimes get into the baking mood and bake lots of treats to take and share, but that hasn't happened in a few years. My kids are too little to have cookies all over! Anyway, what I have been doing for the cousins is getting them a personalized ornament every year. It started on accident when we had 2 new neices with different names and I though it would be special to have a "Baby's First Christmas" ornament with their name on it. Now I do it every year for all of them. I think it's fun to have your name on the tree when you are a child. I hope they like it as much as I do.
I love it and while not homemade it was totally in the spirit of what I meant! In fact, I had someone who did this for me when I was a child. I received an ornament a year from them until I turned 18 and I loved that when I left home and had my very first tree, it was filled with my very own special memories. It made my first Christmas as and "adult" so very special. So take heart, even if they may not appreciate it today, they most certainly will someday so don't give up on this awesome tradition!

What about scented candles or little xmas arrangements (like a mini center piece)? Or even the old tradicional cookies (not oatmeal but the sugar cookie you can decorate) wrap it in celophane paper?
Good Idea you should send all of your group members one ;)

It doesn't look like it will work out...I can't seem to keep them sealed and I have to ship most of my gifts, especially if I tried to send them to all of you. Besides, I can't drink that much LOL!
