Just curious if you write thank you notes to friends and family for holiday gifts?
Yes - always -- an I have the kids send them too.... If someone can take the time to shop for us and put thought into a gift - we can take a minute to jot off a thank you and stick it in the mail.
I agree. What I don't understand is why we don't get any from any one else. Seems rude to me.

No b/c we as a family get together and unwrap in front of each other so we say thank you and give hugs, and show our appreciation that way, now if it was mailed to me then I'd give a phone call or a card or something.

We always do thank you cards for those that send gifts. If we are with the people, then we do not, UNLESS, they are of an older generation. If we are talking about Great Grandparents doing ANYTHING for my 2 year old, then they get a card period, regardless. It is how they were raised and they deserve to be treated with that level of respect.
Typically, I will, even with those who gave gifts in person, send an email thank you later, but that is just me.
