How do we get married....LOL...We don't want a wedding we just want to go and get married one day(within the next couple weeks.) Does anyone know how we go about doing that? Thanks!

You have to go to the courthouse and get a marriage license, then you can go to a justice of the peace or a magistrate or something. I don't think VA has a waiting period, so you should be able to get the license and get married on the same day. I got married in CT and there was a 2 week waiting period (which was ok since we were having a big wedding.) I want to say it costs between $35 and $50 for the license, plus the officiant fee.
You'll need to contact the circuit court for that..It's $35 for the license and its valid for 60 days. Te officiant (justice of the peace) by law cannot charge anything over $50. in the state of VA but its cheap, in PWC i think I paid $12. BUT the courts usually dont accept personal checks for these types of transactions.. cash or certified check... Call Stafford circuit court for times and an appointment.. the JOP will only take apts. Congrats!!! and Good Luck momma!!!!! I think it took me a week from start to finish.. but it could be quicker in Stafford.!! I was married in PWC.
Hey there! Just wanted to pop in and say congratulations ahead of time. :) Also, here's a link to the Stafford website regarding marriage. Somewhere on that web page is also a place for you to click on to get a list of officiants (JP's).
I got married in Fairfax County and I doubt there's any difference but basically I went to the Fairfax Courthouse, was issued a marriage certificate (**not the same as a license**), we were married by a minister (JP in your case), the officiant gives you a form or two to fill out after you are married and then you mail it to Vital Statistics in Richmond (the forms you receive will have the Richmond address). If you want copies of your actual marriage license, you have to pay for each copy. You will need at least one copy of your marriage license after it's been recorded by the state so you can change your name on your drivers license, etc. assuming your are taking your fiance's last name. DMV and some other companies require a photocopy of the actual marriage license (not marriage certificate) in order for you to change your name due to identity theft reasons..
Best of luck and congrats again!

When hubby and I got married we had his sister get ordained for the day so she could marry us. We had to pay 27 dollars to the county we were getting married in. Congrats ahead of time.
