Have any of you used Dr. Rahhal? He delivers at Mercy. I just made an appointment to see him and would like some info. about him. Have you heard anything about him good or bad?
I used Dr. Barki, but she's in the same practice. I know of several women that use the Center for Women at Mercy. Mercy's Birthplace is excellent and their prenatal classes are fantastic. My son was born at 33 weeks at Mercy and they were wonderful with him in the NICU and very good with me. I would highly recommend Mercy Hospital for the delivery of your baby.
I believe all the doctors in the Center for Women are high-risk certified.
depends on what kind of a birth you want... if you want all the bells and whistles, read too much technology, you'll get them!!!

i go to Dr Melendez in the same practice. i saw Dr Rahhal once when my doc was outta town (2 weeks before i delivered). he was a really nice guy who did his best to answer my questions even tho he didnt know much about my particulars. his main nurse is also very kind.

i dunno if you've checked out the webiste, but this is some info on him. i really loved delivering at mercy & continue to go to that practice. just be prepared to wait when you go in for your appointment...its always a long wait haha.
Dr. Rahhal delivered my oldest in 2006. I didn't see him for my whole pregnancy and probably only started to see him when I was about 30-32 weeks pregnant with her (I had some issues with getting approved for SoonerCare).
He is a very nice man who seemed to truly care about my questions and concerns and always answered them.
All the staff I encountered at the Women's place (or whatever it's called) were friendly and courteous.
I guess my only complaint about my experience at Mercy is that I feel that they didn't do all that they could to prevent my daughter from inhaling meconium (in case you don't know, it is bowel that is in the aminotic fluid). I don't know if Dr. Rahhal was informed of this.
They knew I had meconium in my fluid as soon as I arrived, but never inserted a tube or anything to filter it out before I delivered. So she breathed some of it in when she was born and we almost lost her. The NICU staff worked with her and us to let us always know what was going on and gave us hope that she would survive (and she did).
Dr. Rahhal did take good care of me during delivery (from what I can remember of it) and checked in on me regularly.
I don't know if this really helps answer your question or not, but I hope that you can take away something from what I've said. :)
