Friends coming to town? Family making an extended visit? Neighbors won't leave? Don't panic.

Here's a few ideas to help keep your holiday guests happy.

  • Place items such as cotton swabs, facial tissue, extra soap and toilet paper, etc. in a nice tray or basket on the bathroom counter. This will ensure that everything is tidy and easily accessible for your guests.
  • Greet your guests by leaving a small welcome gift in their room, a sachet or small candies will go a long way to make your guests feel welcome.

How do make your holiday guests feel at home?

I always have appetizers or snacks out but our visitors know that we have kids so a not so clean house is very understandable to others.  I always make sure the house is very clean especially the bathroom when guests are coming over.

I decorate my Uncle's guest room with Christmas items from our past....a manager on top of an old buffet that he remembers his parents did when he was young, I hang lights in the window, Merry Christmas banner around the room, a lil Christmas tree with ornaments that he had given me thru the years....

I make sure I have all their favorites weather it be food, candy drink or snack.  I make sure it's here in my Home for them whenever they need it =o)

There is snacks, drinks (accessible where they can get to) out before the meal-there is always toys and books and videos accessible to the kids.   I tidy up all rooms and things get to like kleenex and stuff if they need to (and make sure enough toilet paper and clean hand towels/wash cloths and soap and all are out)   There are also books, magazines or other gadgets accessible for the adults.

We make them feel at home by spending quality time with them...playing games and eatting....talking and laughing.

Always have snacks on hand. And bowls of candy out.

these are good ideas.  I would get plenty of food, drinks and snacks for them.  Maybe take them for a ride around our town.
