Cell phones...even old ones or ones that you don't have a service for.....you can still call 911 on ALL phones as long as the battery is charged.

I had snow & icy care package too for when I travel to Pittsburgh.

And don't forget spare change for the Tolls and vending machines.

Even if I am just going some where for the day, I always bring a change of clothes for the kids!

We don't have to travel...my mom is across the street and DH's family is about 20 minutes away, all of them within 5 miles of each other.  NICE>

We also make sure to have an emergency kit as well. If our car were to break down or we were stranded due to weather we make sure to have food, water, blankets and like others said a cell phone!

Extra socks  come in handy for so many things.  You can layer to keep hands or feet warm, use to wipe a window, place behind neck for suppost, or lower back....

I am sure I could name at least 10 more things, and some goofier.
