I called the electroniics dept. earlier this morning and asked if they had the $199 Acer netbooks in stock. They said they had 4 and THEY OFFERED to hold one for us til the end of the day. I told them I'd be up there in a few mins., so they said they were putting one on hold for me in my name. Well, I freaking get up there (and drag my whole family out in the cold and rain), and they can't find the one they were holding for me and they don't have any in stock. They proceed to tell me that they sold their last one a litlte bit before I got up there...yeah, it was probably the one on hold for me! I was so freaking pissed! NONE of our Targets in like a 40 mile radius have any in stock. We ended up going to Best Buy and getting one. I was so mad!

We had several of the toy items in the book that ends today not avail. My BFF has been trying to get the LP airport for my son for his Birthday, and I've been trying to get the Puppy in my Pocket house for my niece... we have 4 Targets in our county and not one has had them.

Oh yes, Target is infamous for that. Anytime they have a really low sale price on something they only have 1 or 2 of them in the store. I've gone down as soon as they open to get stuff they had advertised and there weren't any! But once they did get a couple of the items in but I had to keep calling them daily to see if the truck brought it, they never would have called me on the rain check. Just a new spin on the 'bait and switch' routine.
I got the LP Airport for my son last month! It was on sale for $40 and I had a coupon for $20 off, so I got it for $20...thank goodness!

funny - as I am reading this the Channel 12 news is doing a live report from West Allis Target.
I would be sure to talk to the store manager, the dept. manager and I probably would stand in the actual department and loudly let other shoppers know they let me down. I am a grumbler.
I would also be contacting corporate. If nothing else, hopefully you would get some sort of discount coupons or a gift card to keep you a returning customer.

I think I will contact the store manager and corporate about it. It made me so freaking mad. We ended up going out of our way to Best Buy to spend almost twice as much to get what we went there for.
