I know.... this little one has just boggled his father and I.... he's gone to limits that his brothers never saw.... lol I have one who finally outgrew his seat at 6 yrs. old and then I have Alex who's doing it at 2. Size wise we could save a ton of money and go high back booster, but we are not comfortable with that....so yet another car seat.... lol..... We hope we can (well he can) hold out until tax time.....

Are there any shop in your area that specialize in second hand children clothes, equipment, and toys.  I went to  one and was able to buy one that was in good condition for my boys when they were little.  They out grow them, and yes we do want to keep our children safe. You need to check for recalls.  Our police station will even check to see if they are connect properly.  It is a free service to the community to help keep children safe.

  I get upset when I see children standing up in a car while mom or dad is driving,  If you can not get an expresso machine check out the french press coffee pot.  Mine does a nice job.  Not it does not froth the milk but I can live with that.  They showed one on the food network last night.  The Elton Brown show :"Good Eats.".

As for Car Seats in a consignment/used items/thrift store.  I'd NEVER buy that.  You cannot guarantee that it was in an accident and therefor no longer structurely sound.  Also, carseats older than 10 yrs should no longer be used.

Hey Katherine:) our shops won't even take car seats anymore so you'd have to do Craigslist.... we are looking at a graco nautilus b/c when the time comes that can be his booster seat.

To one of the other replies: his seat is installed correctly, and hasn't been recalled....he just has a very long torso height.....
