About Funky Mamas of Toddlers

Funky Mamas of Toddlers is a group for women raising children ages one to four. We also welcome moms of future toddlers who are looking for information about the toddler years, as well as moms of older children who have wisdom to share about their kids as toddlers.

I created this group because I didn't quite fit in with many of the other, more mainstream birth date groups. I decided to start a group for moms with children four and under, who believe in:

A natural lifestyle. This can mean so many things. Maybe you breastfeed your babies, or try to eat organic foods, or you clean with baking soda and vinegar, or you are a vegetarian, or you grow your own food. A natural lifestyle means many things to many people, but if that's how you identify your life, please join!

Gentle discipline. I understand that most people, however, believe that spanking can be an occasional part of an overall gentle discipline style. Therefore feel free to disagree politely, but this is not the place for a debate about spanking. We do, however, make a point to encourage each other in not using physical punishment with our children.

A semi AP approach to parenting. Attachment parenting, which involves things like babywearing, breastfeeding, and cosleeping, is something else that works its way into peoples lives in different ways. This isn't the place to debate whether anybody is "AP enough", but to support one another as we try our best to have that parenting style in a way that works for our individual situations.

If you can relate to those three statements, please join this group! This forum will delete inactive members after 60 days, in an effort to keep lurkers out of our midst. This is a no drama zone. Feel free to politely disagree, but this is not the place to look for a fight.
