Hello I'm Courtney and I live in Florida I was a army wife for nearly 14 yrs. I have been married 15 yrs this Oct. My dh and I have 2 wonderful kiddos Emme is 5 now and Johnathan is 4. He was diagnosed severly autistic  Aug 07 at the time is was really upsetting wondering what did I do pretty frustrating when I didnt even drink coke when I was pregnant and some other family members on meth was having children with nothing wrong with them. WELL those feelings have left me for the most part and I am so caught up in raising this awesome little boy that God wanted me to have he has made such progress in the last yr he is talking now VERY LOUDLY lol not in sentences but he will I know. I still get aquised of babying him to much but thats my right RIGHT? He will do what hes suppose to do when hes suppose to Im sure most of you know this but since we have moved to florida I have lost most of my friendships and well its hard to find friends that understand your life and how you have to change for your child why I let him be loud cause well im just happy that he has found his voice and you know what I can teach him over time to tone it down but Im not ready yet because for the most part I love to hear BUZZLIGHT YEAR over and over cause last yr he couldnt even say bye bye so instead of making excuses for my child i have moved on and I am looking for friends that know how we live and feel and accept it and get excited when my child learns a new word or can draw a circle. Thank you to all that have took the time to read this Hello/ Vent lol I look forward to talking with you all

welcomeI'm Niki, we have 4 kids, the oldest is 9 & autistic. I am so glad your son is talking! That is so great & I glad you are so excited about that! When my son started talking again, I was so happy to hear him say anything! Now, I will be honest there has been many times when I could go for some silence. Talking in any form is such an improvement, just think of all that is to come! I look at my son all the time & just think, boy we have come so far!
