Hi, everyone. I was just wandering if any of you have your child on the g/fc/f diet? I haven't because I know it is kinda strict & I worry about the withdrawl period. How does your child being on this diet affect lunchtime in public schools? Also, do any of you use vit supplements? We have him on B6 & Magnesium along with other meds his behaviorist has prescribed. Do you feel as if the fish oil & such help? My son is 9 & in th e 4th grade, most of our problem is social & alot of impulse control. I have also heard that yoga & meditation helps. What do ya'll think, have you tried? I'm not sure I could get him to fully participate, ya know what I mean? Well, thanks for your time & any help will be greatly appriciated. We are just worried of trying him on new things, esp if the stress will not be worth it.

I'll be honest. If one more person suggests the gluten free diet to me for my daughter, I am going to scream. I know it has worked for many kids and when it works it is worth the sacrifice. However my 5 year old Cara has serious issues with eating. She literally lives off of Pediasure. She has EXACTLY six foods that she is willing to eat. If I were to try to put her on the gluten free diet she wouldn't have anything to eat. It is my understanding that the gluten free diet works on kids with allergies or digestive problems caused by gluten and such. Unfortunately I think the only way you know is to try it. Like I said, when it works, it works wonders. I just know that it isn't going to help my daughter. I imagine when it comes to school you would have to pack everything your child was going to eat for their lunch. Cara is only in kindergarten so I haven't had that battle yet but next year when she is in first grade and going all year I will just have to pack her Pediasure and whatever she is willing to eat every day. Such is life! Liz

Thanks for the honest answer, I really appriciate it. I haven't really noticed him having any kind of digestive or allergic symtoms, & he seems totally okay with his diet. I know the situation with the food and your daughter. My son was like that & thankfully he has pretty much outgrown it. I will not lie we still have our battles at dinnertime pretty much every night, but he does eat more & tries more foods. Thank you
