RESOURCES FOR ADD/ADHD

Hey everyone,  I was thinking that we should have a post for known resources.   I know from time to time I need names of books  or web links to read and learn more about my own son's conditions.

So, if you have a book or link that you think other Mom's would benefit from, please post them here.  I will leave this post as a sticky note so it will be easy to find.

I have only one main rule in this post....

DO NOT TRY TO SELL ANYTHING OR  PROMOTE ANYTHING FOR SELF GAIN,
IT WILL BE DELETED.

I recommend the ADD Book by Sears and Thompson

Also I have been using a great site called ADHD Nanny.  You can visit it at www.adhdnanny.com.  This site has really helped me be more consistent and organized.  You can post your chore chart and rewards - you can really post just about anything you typically need to get done throughout the week. The kids have their own login where they can check off chores and homework as they go. The kids love it because they earn rewards for a job well done! It has really helped me get all those charts and calendars organized in one place.  If you don't like to use the term adhd with your children, they do have a mirror site at www.nannyscircle.com.

I think that this is a wonderful idea! My son, 11, was just diagnosed and I could use some good leads!

I just happened to see this book in the library when I was looking for something else.  "Maybe You Know My Kid" by Mary Cahill Fowler.

I've been reading it and can relate to much of what it says.  It's helping me to better understand the son who has been the most challenging, as well as myself and my other son.

She also has a book entitled, "Maybe You Know My Teen".  Think that I'm going to read that one next.

Light and love, hope and wisdom.  Don't stop believing.  butterfly

Watching my grandson's diet has helped a great deal and we started with this website ;

http://www.feingold.org/overview.php

the elimination diet is on-going, even after we went the biomedical route;

If you are in NY, here is the link to the website for the DAN DR. that helped us ;  http://www.pathfamilycenter.com/
