Mom's with a child with ADHD....Looking for a friend !

Hi,

I have a child with ADHD who will be turning 11 the end of the month. He has had a hard time making friends in the neighborhood so usually play's alone. Me also have lived in the Port St. Lucie, Fl. area for over 5 yrs. now and have not made any friends to hang with. I am a stay at home mom and would love to meet another woman friend to be able to hang and talk with. It get's lonely and a bit frustrating dealing with my son who has ADHD. He is a good kid but the constant not listening and telling him over & over & over to do something get's old...lol  I know alot of woman my age (turning 50 Tues...WOW) already have their own friends and don't have time to make new ones.

I'm turning 50 in June also. I too have a son (almost 9) adhd. However I'm in Chicago, so I could be a cyber-buddy. LOL Wish I were in Florida with 8 inches of snow on the ground here.

I should warn you about this group of ADHD Mom's. They are very addicting.  A nice group of ladies. Welcome to the group.

My son is the same way, he has issue making friends and keeping friends. My son tells me that he's bullied at school and etc.

It makes me sad that he has no friends. He does not have good social skills. And with the ADHD the kids don't understand it and would rather not be around him.

I am confused with this new Cafemom I just joined. How do I respond and talk with the person who replied to my message. I am used to FB and this is all new to me.

Yes, I am glad I am not up North with the snow & cold. Love living in Florida !!!   I am from Boston so I know all about freezing....lol

Hmm, maybe a trip for all us adhd moms to Florida is in order, haha. I am thinking without the kids, lying on the beach with a cabana boy bringing us drinks, ah. Ok back to reality.. I am in Pa. or I would love to meet up. Welcome to our group.

Hi there my son is 10 yrs old and its real rough at times,very stressful,mines on focalin xr its a time release medicine he's only on 5mg right now,it needs up dosed and the teacher are complaining because he's not focusing right now when he's doing his school work...were going to take him back to see his doctor..anyways i don't live in your town but if you like to we can e-mail each other back and fourth..Tammy♥

Hi,

My son will be 11 Jan. 30. It is rough. He is on Vyvance 30mg. We just tried Strattera. which did not work, made  him worse. I don't know about yours but mine never listens, does whatever he want's no matter the consequence. They say it's the impulse but damn.....it drives me nut's....lol
