ok i dont understand how the state can just cut a childs medical off knowing he needs it. my son is 7 he has been on a medication for a year now and i went to take his medication in to the pharmacy and they called me and told me his medical was shut off. i mean i can understand if he had both his father and i but its just me and my husband and  we are going off my husbands income for 5 people and he has an absent parent and when i first applied they told me he would be on a 193 b program because his father wasnt in the picture and he is on ssi and they can not recieve money from him for child support. but what i dont understand is knowing all this why would they just cut him off? and i am for sure it shows in there computers that he has been getting meds for adhd and odd monthly for over a year now its not like it was the first month or something u know?

Have you called and questioned it? People make mistakes & computers are only as smart as the person operating them. We get funding and every year we have to reapply & get reapproved. Maybe it's as simple as that.

They can't kill ya.... they can only tell ya no. It should be a simple phone call to get to the bottom of it.

We're in Ontario,Canada so all our meds are covered regardless, but I know some companies like Concerta and Focalin have payment programs for when it's hard to afford  them. What type of meds is your son on?

Have you moved in the last year?  If so, you may have missed your recertification paperwork.

Also, if you were not married when you first applied, but are now, then you may have qualified but your husbadn's income kicked your family out.  I wouldn't think that's possible on SSI though.  I thought SSI guaranteed medicaid.

You need to call the office first thing and talk to someone about why his medicaid got cut off.
