it is so hard when her meds wear off. her dr just gave her a sleeping pill to help her wind down. she cant wind down at night to go to sleep. i hate haveing her on meds but the dr tell me that is all i can do.
Try Melatonin, they are sleep aid. This may help your child to go sleep. It worked for my 12 year old son, but you should ask the doctor about Melatonin first to see if she can take those and how many mg your child should start taking it. I have 3mg so my son takes 2 pills of 3mg. Melatonin usually be in the vitamin supplement aisle. It cost me around $6.
My son, 10, takes vyvanse & intuntiv during the day and his meds wear off faster than they should, but i think its because he drinks a lot and is very active. My son has also taken Clonidine to help him fall asleep since he was diagnosed at 3 1/2, but we were told to switch to melatonin recently. Since i had already bought the clonidine we are using that up, but than switching to melatonin cuz its cheaper cuz its just a vitamin supplement. But its suppose to help them calm down. This is what our doctor told us to do. BUT talk to your dd's doctor FIRST. It may depend on the meds that she is on. My son also takes generic zoloft for depression. We are a drug loving family! LOL! (dont want to be but thats just how it is).
