Re: Stevia - I have heard of it, but have not yet tried it. Can you cook with it and/or bake with it? Does is have the unpleasant gastrointestinal side effects that Splenda can sometimes provoke? Thanks!

Is there a sweetner that does not have that after taste? Stevia has an after taste. What can I use as a substitute for miracle whip?

Someone recently suggested agave. Would that work in tea? Anything else?

My husband is using Splenda to sweeten his tea. I don't know if there are any negative things about this product or not or if it is much better than regular sugar. He likes it though.

We use Splenda also, I even buy the flavored packets for my coffee and love them.

Hi there just wanted to let you know that Stevia or "sweet leaf" does come from a natural plant. Japan has been using this since 1970 as a sweetener in their food products. Stevia comes in liquid, powder and tab form. I have no idea if one form is better than the other since I haven't yet tried Stevia. I heard it had an after taste, so I am reluctant to give it a taste. My rule of thumb is to research any additional ingredients that may be added to the product I am buying. Hope this helps.
