My midwife told me I could take it for my mood swings so I can stop being a bitch to my hubby...but I was reading about it and there is some controversy about it.  My midwife would not tell me to take this daily if it was going to harm my baby...right?

I'm not familiar with controversies surrounding magnesium. I take about 400mg a day to help with the restless leg type symptoms I've been having in the pregnancy. My midwife suggested it several weeks ago, and I've found them to be effective. I know nothing about magnesium being a mood stabilizer.

i took magnesium aspartate for leg cramps, and to help with labor. my midwife had recommended me reading something written by another amazing midwife about how most of her patients who took it in the lst trimester had shorter labors.

my labor was 4 hours start to finish.
