I used to make this for my sons when they were younger. I know its not a food recipe but didnt know where else to post it.

4 cups of flour, 1 cup salt, 2 cups water

preheat over to 200. in large bowl mix flour and salt. form a mound and make a well in the middle. pour the water into well and push dry ingred into center. knead dough into a ball. if crumbly, add a few tbsp more of water. form into shapes. back one hour. when cool, paint with poster paint. let dry and spray with shellac. or you can seperate it and dye different colors before baking

I did this the other day, my kids loved shaping the dough, using cookie cutters, and makin handprints. We made cute decorations for the tree.

We still need to paint them though.

Thanks!

We used to add a few drops of vanilla to it as well.  Not sure why, but real Play Doh does have vanilla.
