I got this one a long time ago from another Cafemom'er from another group so I can't take credit but it's really good!

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter melted

1 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla

2 eggs

1/2 cup flour

1/3 cup cocoa

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp baking powder

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease 9" pan

1.  Stir together melted butter, sugar and vanilla in bowl.  Add eggs, beat well (I hand mix this whole recipe)

2.  In separate bowl stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt

2.  Gradually add to the egg mixture stirring until well blended

4.  Spread batter evenly into prepared pan

5.  Bake 20-25 minutes or until brownies pull away from side of pan.

I have tried a lot of brownie recipes from scratch and I have to tell you none were that good. The chocolate/cocoa flavor was too weak. I have not tried any more because I was sad none were great. A friend did   tell me that in order to make real good brownies you have to use a high end quality cocoa - the more expensive kind. I have not tried this yet . When I do I am going to buy some at whole foods which will probably run $7-9 for the cocoa although it might be worth it! I know chefs like alton brown and martha stewart use expensive cocoa . You might want to try to look those up on google. Now I know why brownies and fudge are so expensive. lol

Good question and thanks for the recipe posted above. My hubby loves brownies and he's very picky. I haven't tried homemade recipes yet because he has high standards. :) I do want to give it a try though. He likes QFC's bakery brownies....I have introduced him to Guiradeli's chocolate chocolate chip brownies (my fav) and he does like those. But I would like to find a homemade recipe.

This is the one I use and they come out perfectly every time!!
