ya I should share a picture of when she was small. HEHE!!!
She is a really good dog, has a great temperament. But she is not a good walker (on a leash) I need advice.
To help teach her to walk better on a leash. I did the turn around method and she just pulled that way too.
Today she slipped her leash at the park and took off into the lake. She took off running and jumped right in, then realized she was in water and quickly swim-med out.
She freaked out a few ppl. Who just automacially assumed she is mean.
She dont' have a mean bone in her body just a bark that sounds mean.
For leash walking use a pinch collar (prong collar) they are AMAZING. They do not cause harm to the dog if they are used right. When using them you you give the dog a quick pop when they pull on the leash. The choke chain and even flat collars cause more harm than pinch collars.

Choke collars are awful. They can cause so much damage. I have never been successful with the halti but always successful with the pinch collar.
Quoting brani5:
Choke collars wouldn't work with Addy, she would still pull until she couldn't breath. Our trainer gave us a Halti and that thing worked wonders. I could hold the leash with just one finger when she was in that thing.

Every trainer has their own opinion on what collar works best. I believe they all can be successful if you are consistent. Don't expect instant results and be consistent for the long haul and things will turn out just fine. Our trainer believer in starting in a choke (She has had high ranking dobies in national obedience and agility) and that really worked well with our dogs so we never had to advance to a pinch. A choke is totally fine if used properly and won't cause your dog any more damage than a pinch. I have known of other people who start in a pinch and that works great for them. Just stick with it!!! Sounds like your dog is a sweetie (and looks like one too) so you shouldn't have any problems. But know that you should never use a pinch on an agressive dog as it can escalate agression. Good Luck!!
Very cute!!! I love pic posts :) Have to add some of Lucius's puppy pics too, ok a lot lol. Just the day I brought him home and then at 10 months.
