How old is he now? A lot of Dobes hit a "teenage" phase that can start between 6 and 12 months and last until 18-24 months. He'll probably come back around, they just like to test you, show him that nothing is changing and that all the rules are staying the same and he'll eventually snap out of it.

I totally agree with the PP. He will never be the sweet puppy again but if you stand firm he will eventually grow into a wonderful adult dog. Man, I remeber going through the teenage years with my two and it wasn't fun but I am so glad we toughed it out. I wouldn't trade them for the world now.
