bathe and brush often! Changing their food to a higher quality one sometimes helps as well.

I read not to bathe them often?!?!? That they had sensitive skin?

What do you consider high quality food? We have Anakin on Nutro High Protein.

But maybe he isn't a bad shedder lol this is our first spring with a Doberman :)

I try not to bathe them too often, once a month is good if they're not getting too dirty/stinky.

I'd get a curry comb style brush, petsmart sells one I like called Zoom Groom. You can also try a coat conditioner spray when you brush between baths. I'd get one for sensitive skin though.

dogfoodanalysis.com is a great site for researching foods. As long as they're on a decent food you could try adding fish oil supplements and egg to the food, or I really like "Missing Link" it's a supplement that you can find at Petsmart and many other pet supply stores. It's great for their coats, it's a powder that you add on top of the food. If you have him o a really high end food like EVO or another grain free food you probably won't need to supplement with anything.

These things will help but you'll always have dog hair around! Just lots of vacuuming an sweeping, I bought leather furniture just because of the dogs lol, the fur doesn't stick too it! I don't let them on the furniture though, they do have their own futon in the garage that they are allowed on. I wash there bedding when ever I bathe them too, I use a sensitive skin detergent or all natural detergent.

What kind of Nutro? Nutro MAX is low end, Nutro Natural Choice is a step up from MAX, and Nutro Ultra I'd consider a Middle of the road food. I wouldn't use the lower end two, and if he's on Ultra he could still probably benefit from some supplementing for his coat.

It's natural choice. We had him on Pro Plan but made the switch.

Honestly we are thinking about switching him to raw!

Yeah if you do your homework and you have the time and money I'm sure it would be by far the best!
