Please Introduce yourself, and your Dobe if you have one!

I'm Ashley, I'm  a dog trainer, dobe owner, and of course mom to one beautiful baby girl! I've been in love with this breed since I was 11 years old, I finally got one and he is now almost 3! He may be my first but he won't be my last!

Here's Lucius:

And with his sister PJ (beagle/basset) and cousin Baylee (pitty/beagle):

  • Hi everyone!!  Great Pics!  And so many Reds (browns)!!!

My name is Holly and I too am a Dog Trainer.  I am so excited to be invited to this group!  My first Doberman came to me through a rescue situation.  A breeder that I was on a puppy list with called me up and asked how I felt about an 18 month old male since he knew I had been doing Rottweiler rescue for years and years!  I said why not and after spending 45 minutes sitting on the floor of the home he was in not making eye contact or moving I finally got him to sniff me.  And that was the beginning of an amazing relationship that lasted way too short of a time because of the ignorance and horrible actions that the original family did.  Argos lived to be 2 1/2 years old when he lost his battle with his nervous system shutting down because of being overly shocked with a shock collar from an early age.  I always thought I was a Rottie person until I owned him and that was when I fell in love with the Dobermans!  Here is a pic of Argos at about 2 years old:

And now I have my wonderful boy Keisar who is a 14 week old Blue dobe boy.  He is my first non-rescue dog and I plan on trying my hand at showing with him.  He will also be doing rally-O, agility, and therapy work.  He is a complete goof ball!!  Loves everyone he meets.  I've done a lot of research into the medical issues that the Blues are more common with and started supplements already to battle them.

  • Thank you!  Argos was just a beautiful doberman and once he learned to trust again he was wonderful!!  My shadow completely!!  There was one time when we were doing CGC testing at a large rescue event.  I decided to put him in my car to relax while I ate some lunch.  The car is a Subaru Legacy Wagon and I had one of the metal barriers to keep him in the back end.  I had the back windows open to the child safety level as well.  Well I put him in and walked away and started talking to someone when all of a sudden I hear people yelling.  I turn around to see him sitting in front of me with this look like "HI you forgot me!"

He had pulled down the barrier, jumped out the window, ran past at least 20 dogs, my best friend and husband, a grill with hamburgers and hotdogs right on the sides to come and sit at my side.  Now that loyalty!!

Keisar is his half brother.  Same dad different mom.

  • Hi every one,

My name is Debbie and I am happy to be included in this group.  I own 2 dobie girls.  One I purchased through an add in the paper.  She is 2 and my squish (baby) as my trainer/friend says.  She has her CGC, has already started her legs in obedience but NQ'd the first time out and since I live in the south and there are not many ob trials she will have to wait awhile., she thought it was play time!  We will try again.  Right now she is my service dog and my comfort.  Never leaves my side (almost).  She does hog the bed too and when both are there I definately have no room.

My second dobie I purchased from a working dog breeder.  She comes from European lines (her mom came straight from Europe but her dad is American) and will be larger than the doberman dogs you see in the show rings now.  She will be shown in confirmation as soon as her ear stands (so if anyone has a secret way let me know! she is smart and gets everything off the ear) but since her parents carry numerous working dog titles she will of course do the same, one day.  HOPEFULLY.  Right now she is 6 months old and still a baby.  I think she will be a good protector as well.  She already puts herself between me and another along with the 2 yr old.  She is also showing signs of a good tracker.  She can hunt down an armidillo in no time flat.  Just can't catch one.

Their names are Annie (2) and Fallon (6mos)  both are black and mahagony.  And true to the dobie personality they are pokers!!  You can't bend over at all with out getting a nose.  Both love kids, don't bother with the inside cats but love to chase the outside ones, (cats fault because they used to let Annie play with them and carry them around in her mouth) and finally they are both ruled by my 11 yr old 6 lb shih tzu!  This is Annie and Fallon when she was just 8 weeks old.  Neither of them weighed 8 lbs when I got them.  More like 12 lbs and Annie was only 5 wks when I got her

    Annie and Fallon (at 3mos)

    Fallon now

  •  We have two almost 5 year old dobermans.  We also have a 3 1/2 year old son and an 8 month old daughter.  Its amazing how good they are around the kids and how protective they are.  Right after I had my daughter I had her in a boppy chair sleeping and I let our female (Bella) inside to see her for the first time and she went right over to her and just sat down and wouldnt move.  It was sweet.  They are both goofy and crazy.  Here are a couple pictures of them.

These are some horrible pictures, I know, I really need to get some better ones of them.

And here is one of their puppies.  We breed them and have a litter that is 6 weeks old right now.  I love this little guy..reds are my favorite!
